Kennesaw State alum joins internationally renowned dance company in Chicago

Kennesaw State College alumna Simone Stevens is fiercely self-confident, and not only in her talents as a professional
dancer. Having said that, she acquired this 12 months she can however surprise herself.

awarded the Emerson Scholarship for the Development of Intercontinental Training to
study dance in Israel and perform directly with artists from the Batsheva Dance Organization
in Tel Aviv.

“Simone excelled artistically as a student at KSU Dance, and it was a pleasure to
have her in my class and choreographic function,” stated Ivan Pulinkala, Kennesaw State’s
interim provost and previously dean of the Faculty of the Arts and chair of the Division
of Dance. “Her range as a firm member for Hubbard Avenue Dance Chicago is an
affirmation of her talent and challenging perform, as nicely as a testimony to the results of
the Division of Dance at KSU.”

Following graduation, Stevens explained she put in a year educating and doing the job as a freelance
dancer in the Atlanta place. Then she packed up her issues and moved 720 miles absent
to Chicago devoid of a job.
