
PITTSBURG, Kan. — Hard work and dedication compensated off for customers of the Pittsburg Parks and Recreation Department Dance Company this spring. They had been awarded in general Teen Regional Winner at the Nexstar Dance Competition. Dance studios from the Midwest location traveled to Pittsburg to contend for regional top rated honors.
PPRD Dance enterprise currently gives 3 diverse amounts of levels of competition groups, which they contact their Star Squads: Junior, Senior, and Elite. The Elite Star Squad course received the title of winner with their routine “Get Down.” Of the twelve figures that PPRD competed with, 11 obtained initial spot in their classes. 3 of the routines attained the coveted “Golden Ticket” award for earning some of the greatest scores of the weekend. The Golden Ticket is an invitation to show up at the nationwide opposition held in New York this summer months.
“This is a large honor,” claims PPRD Dance instructor and choreographer Summertime Warren. “These ladies perform so tough all yr. They set in hrs at the studio, discovering and rehearsing, while maintaining great grades, competing in university sports activities, and juggling other pursuits. PPRD Dance Business is celebrating its tenth anniversary this fall. Beth Bradshaw, who organizes the software in conjunction with the Pittsburg Parks and Recreation Division, says she wished to get started a software that was different from some others.

Each individual year, the plan has grown both in courses and in selection of dancers. Raven Warren, a senior this spring from Frontenac, has danced with PPRD for the previous nine many years.

When asked about her time with PPRD Dance, Bradshaw responded “These previous ten several years have been these an amazing encounter. We have crafted a good software with incredible households and committed individuals. Our studio is our dance spouse and children. I am so blessed to be equipped to share my enthusiasm and appreciate of dance with our pupils. I’m so proud of them for all that they have attained this 12 months.”
Classes are made available to youth ages 3 and up in a broad variety of types like faucet, jazz, ballet, pointe, hip hop, up to date, and pom.
