Rock ‘n’ roll legend Noel Gallagher shreds Harry Styles’s ‘worthless’ music

Rock ‘n’ roll legend Noel Gallagher called out pop star Harry Styles for his “worthless” music and said the former boy band member is not a “real musician,” according to a report.

The 54-year-old guitarist made the comments on the 28-year-old Styles while discussing the rise of U.K. singers on The X-Factor.

Styles and his former group, One Direction, made it to the show’s semifinal in 2010, the report noted.

The X Factor is a TV show,” the former star of Oasis said. “It’s got nothing to do with music, it’s got nothing to do with music whatsoever, and anything that has come from that, that’s got nothing to do with music.”

The frontman of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds took the opportunity to rip into Styles’s status as a musician.

“You’re not telling me Harry Styles is currently in a room somewhere writing a song,” Gallagher said.

“With any joy, he’ll be surrounded by a lot of girls,” he continued. “I can assure you he’s not got an acoustic guitar out trying to write a middle eight for something.”

This is not the first time the author of hits including “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back In Anger” has set his sights on the writer of “Watermelon Sugar.”

In 2017, Gallagher ripped his contemporaries for collaborating with pop stars, the report noted.

“People of my age have let themselves go, they’re fat, balding idiots with fading tattoos,” Gallagher told Absolute Radio. “They sit in their garage and write s*** like ‘Sign of the Times’ for Harry Styles. Which, quite frankly, my cat could have written in about 10 minutes.”

Gallagher’s wife, however, is a fan of the young British singer, he said.

“I don’t mind the song, my wife was falling over herself, ‘Have you heard Harry Styles’s new song? It’s like Prince,'” he recounted. “I was like, ‘Without even hearing it, I can assure you it’s not like Prince.'”
