Difference Between Chinese, Vedic and Western Astrology

Chinese Astrology, Vedic Astrology, and Western Astrology differ in many ways. In this article, we will be discussing the difference in all 3.

1. Chinese Astrology

According to Chinese astrology, a person’s fate is determined by the position of the major planets at the person’s birth, along with the positions of the Sun, Moon and comets and the person’s time of birth. Additionally, it is based on their Zodiac Sign. Chinese astrology is strictly based on a 12 year cycle. The Chinese zodiac symbols are represented by the twelve aforementioned animals. Each sign is for one year and you are given the symbol based upon your birth year. The signs rotate according to a twelve year cycle.

2. Vedic Astrology

Vedic astrology is based upon the laws of nature along with the cosmos, which are spoken in the harmony of life. It does not matter who you are, it is more about what happened in your life and the karma. A Vedic astrologer will view the behavior of each person along with their cycles of life to understand the outcome of events. It is a fundamental cleverness that is governed by accuracy, but is totally different from our more modern Western Astrology, which focuses its idea on logic and space.

3. Western Astrology

The zodiac is the belt or band of constellations through which the Sun, Moon, and planets move on their journey across the sky. Astrologers have found a significant difference with all of these zodiac signs. Over time a system was developed based on 12 different zodiac signs that they felt were important. These signs include the following:

o Aries (0°) (The Ram)

o Taurus (30°) (The Bull)

o Gemini (60°) (The Twins)

o Cancer (90°) (The Crab)

o Leo (120°) (The Lion)

o Virgo (150°) (The Virgin)

o Libra (180°) (The Balance)

o Scorpio (210°) (The Scorpion)

o Sagittarius (240°) (The Archer)

o Capricorn (270°) (The Sea-goat)

o Aquarius (300°) (The Water-bearer)

o Pisces (330°) (The Fish)

As you can see there is a major difference between Chinese, Vedic, and Western Astrology. Astrology is one of the most fascinating theories one could ever imagine. There are many things based on astrology such as predicting your horoscope. Reading your horoscope is very real and is usually right on the money. Remember, each zodiac sign falls into a category of when the person was born. Sometimes two planets cross or meet each other precisely at the time a person is born. Since each of the two crossing planets is unique, both of them exercise their influence on the person born at that time. This can determine your personality and your future. Some people take zodiac signs to heart because they have continuously been true for them. Have you seen your zodiac sign lately? Did it closely resemble the problems you are now facing in your lifetime or hit your personality on the head? I wish you the best of luck in understanding Astrology. It is one of the most fascinating discoveries in the world!
